Camp Fabulous is a 7-day leadership academy camp for girls ages 7-17 who are looking to learn about life in a loving environment! Camp Fabulous was dubbed the "Premiere Camp for Girls in Mississippi" by Governor Phil Bryant in 2012 edition of the Governor's Newsletter.

Camp Fabulous will be held July 9-15, 2018 in Jackson, MS. Most of the girls stay overnight. The cost is $300 for the week. All the girls have to pay a non-refundable $50 deposit which secures their spot at Camp Fabulous.  The registration deadline is July 1. Only a select number of ladies will be accepted each year in the new class of Camp Fabulous. Register today and be come a part of the Camp Fabulous Alumni! We are looking forward to graduating our 8th class.

Camp Fabulous History

The first Camp Fabulous was held July 11-17, 2011 at Metro East Church of Christ in Jackson, MS. Twenty-two girls from around Mississippi and surrounding states made the first Camp Fabulous, fabulous! Since then, girls from all round America have made Camp Fabulous a part of their summer plans. The 7-day path is based on the book, "From Fear to Freedom: The 7 Key Elements for a Fabulous Life" which was written by Edelia "Dr. Jay" Carthan, the founder and director of Camp Fabulous.

Each day of the camp is based on the 7 Key Elements which is discussed in detail in Dr. Carthan's book, “From Fear to Freedom: The 7 Key Elements for a Fabulous Life, which is in all 14 branches of the Jackson Hinds Libraries. A Fabulous Life is a life focused on God and doing what He created you to do! You have greatness in You! No one is here by accident, luck or chance. And it’s important that we instill that message in these young girls.

7 KEY ELEMENTS THAT LEADS TO A FABULOUS LIFE ARE:

Day 1 - Faith

Day 2 - Forgiveness

Day 3 - Family

Day 4 - Fitness

Day 5 - Finances

Day 6 - Fellowship/Friendship

Day 7 - Freedom

The 7-day path is designed to guide, inspire, inform, instruct and prepare participants on how to improve their lives using the 7 Key Elements as well as to prepare our next generation of leaders. Participants will follow a daily agenda that focuses on increasing their faith, setting goals, developing their gifts and talents, forgiving themselves and others, raising their self-esteem, encouraging cooperation, managing their money, ACT prep and so much more. Some of the Camp Fabulous activities includes learning double dutch, tour of the State Capitol, Smith Robertson Museum, The COFO Center, filming Camp Fabulous commerical, photoshoot and lots of pictures. The girls end the week of activities with a fun filled Fabulous Fashion and Talent Show by showcasing everything they learned at Camp Fabulous.

You may drop your daughter off Monday, July 9 at 9:00AM at Tougaloo College, Health and Wellness Center, Room 212 A and B. Please check the checklist for a list of supplies for the week. Please note that your balance is due at this time. Email drcarthan@yahoo.com if you have any questions or concerns or call us at 769.447.8313. Thanks and see you at Camp Fabulous in July.
